This weekend will serve a number of sports events that fans can look forward to. On a key note, Amahoro Stadium will be buzzing as the highly anticipated game between Amavubi and the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be unfolding at 6PM. However, that is not the only sports event to look forward to this weekend.
In this article, Times Sport takes a look at various sports events that will be taking place so that you can plan accordingly.
1. Rwanda Vs Nigeria at Amahoro Stadium
The game will commence at 6 PM as both teams will be fighting for a ticket to the 2026 World Cup. Looking back at previous head-to-head record, the two teams have played seven games against each other, with Amavubi winning one and drawing four, while Nigeria managed two wins.
The seven games saw a total of nine goals scored – three for Amavubi and six for Nigeria.
According to the Group C standings, Rwanda leads the group with seven points, while Nigeria is fifth with three points.

2. APR Vs Tigers in the basketball league
At BK Arena at 6:30PM, basketball supporters will watch APR, the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) defending champions, come up against Tigers. APR is currently leading the league table with 16 points while Tigers is in seventh position with six points.
3. REG Vs Patriots
At 9PM, still in the basketball league, Rwanda Energy Group (REG) will play against Patriots, a matchup that promises to thrill fans as the two giant clubs come head-to-head.
It is expected to feature a mini-battle between REG's point guard, Senegal's Jean Jacques Boissy, the leading three-point shooter with 23 (3-point scores), and Patriots' guard, Cole Elliot Lamar, who boasts 70 percent efficiency, 31 total assists, and 105 total points in 183 minutes played.
4. AZOMCO Vs Kepler, Patriots Vs Orion on Sunday
On Sunday, March 23, basketball will continue, featuring AZOMCO against Kepler, Patriots against Orion, and Espoir versus APR to close the weekend's basketball games.
5. Volleyball playoffs
Volleyball enthusiasts will also be watching great games in both men's and women's categories.
Among the games, Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) will be up against APR, as the tax collectors will be seeking to bounce back against the army side, after losing the first game in a tie-break in the women's category.
In the men’s category, Kepler, led by captain Ivan Mahoro will be up against Prince Kanamugire's APR VC.

On Saturday, at 4PM, in the women's category, Kepler WVC will play against Police WVC, followed by the men's category where REG will entertain Police VC.
