Soulja known as DeAndre Ramone Way was born in July 28th 1990 in Chicago, USA. He was always on the move as a result of his parent’s separation.
It was in Atlanta that he met rapper Young Kwon and got introduced to the music world. Kwon recorded his first song, an experience regarded as priceless by Soulja.
However, monetary problems kept pressing in and while he was in eighth grade, his father took him to live in Mississippi.
Soulja Boy’s claim to fame was in 2007 with his single ‘Crank That (Soulja Boy) which won the BET award for the Best Hip-Hop Dance. Despite being only 19, Soulja Boy has won himself countless nominations at the top music awards, his most recent one being "Kiss Me Thru the Phone” for BET Viewer’s Choice Award.
With his music style of crank, Soulja Boy has already made a name for himself in the entertainment business and is destined to go places courtesy of the enormous talent he possesses.
