ISAE signs pact with Ugandan varsity

MUSANZE – The Higher Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry-ISAE, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Busitema University of Uganda, to enhance cooperation in agricultural education, research and technology transfer.

MUSANZE – The Higher Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry-ISAE, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Busitema University of Uganda, to enhance cooperation in agricultural education, research and technology transfer.

Dr Charles Karemanjingo the Rector of ISAE-Busogo, and Professor Mary J N Okwakol the Vice Chancellor of Busitema University signed the pact on Tuesday. The ceremony was witnessed by academic and administrative staff from both institutions.

Under the new pact, Dr Karemanjingo explained, that  the two institutions will share teaching, and training opportunities including an exchange programme for students during internship.

The deal also stipulates that there will be an exchange programme for teaching staff to enable them conduct research, extension and teaching between the two institutions within certain disciplines.

Professor Mary J N Okwakol commended the outreach programme offered by ISAE, which she said  ensures transfer of knowledge acquired by students to the rural community.

She added that the cooperation will pave way for sharing expertise and skills between the two institutions.
