KT Rwanda Networks (KTRN), Rwanda’s leading 4G LTE infrastructure company offering mobile broadband services, is taking mobile communication in the country to new heights with the launch of its HD Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service for both urban and rural subscribers. VoLTE is a high-speed wireless communication standard for voice calls over 4G LTE Network.
With crystal-clear voice calls that come with reduced background noise, and faster call connections—up to three times faster than 2G or 3G calls—this service sets a new standard for mobile voice quality in Rwanda.
Unlike internet-based apps such as WhatsApp or Skype, users won’t need to download any additional apps; all they need is a 4G-compatible smartphone supporting VoLTE and a KTRN SIM card to access these enhanced calling features.
The launch of the HD Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service reaffirms KTRN’s commitment to enhancing communication services in Rwanda by providing cutting-edge, affordable, and high-quality voice solutions to its customers.

To celebrate the launch, KTRN is offering unlimited free VoLTE calls and SMS for all users with KTRN 4G SIM cards. They have also completed interconnections with local mobile network operators—MTN Rwandacell and Airtel Rwanda—ensuring seamless communication between KTRN 4G users and other networks operating in Rwanda. The company has also partnered with regional and international operators to facilitate global voice and SMS exchanges.
