APR FC head coach Darko Novic expressed mixed feelings as his side nearly bottled their win against Police FC in the last minutes of the game.

APR FC were 3-0 up in the 90th minute but allowed Police to score in the 91st minute before Didier Mugisha missed the penalty which could have reduced the deficit to 3-2 in the 92nd minute.

Novic admits that, though his team was excellent in the first half, there were lapses in the second half which nearly cost them.

"I am happy and satisfied with some part of the game but, on the other hand, I am not happy at all. We gave them chances and they nearly came back into the game," Novic told the press in a post-match interview.

The win helped the Rwandan champions cut the gap between them with Rayon Sports within 2 points before the two arch rivals square off in the derby on Sunday, March 9, at Amahoro Stadium.

"Now we have cut the points gap between us and Rayon and we now have big chance next week against them. We have to prepare very well and go out there for a win," he said.

APR FC were bouncing back from their 1-0 loss to Mukura VS in Huye and Novic commended his players for reacting quickly and show improved performance against Police FC.

"We were so bad against Mukura but, against Police FC, we had a good first half and the team can only get better," he added.

APR FC will next face Rayon Sports on Sunday, March 9 in a derby that could have a say on who will win the Rwanda Premier League.
