FROM UG WITH LOVE: APRu2019s new signing John Karangwa wants to achieve success with the Rwandan champions.

APR’s new signing John Karangwa has vowed to help the club reach the lucrative stages of the Africa Champions League and also sweep all domestic trophies.

Karangwa joined the military side last week in a two year deal reportedly to be around $15000 dollars (Rwf 8.3millions) from Ugandan side URA.

The central defender on Wednesday told Times Sport that he rejected offers from Tanzanian side Young and Sudanese side El Merreikh because APR offered him the best deal including going for professional trials when the opportunity presents itself.

"Although clubs like Young and El Merreikh wanted me, I chose to join APR because they offered me an opportunity of playing professional football when it presents itself.

"My major objective is to help APR win the major trophies like the league, Amahoro Peace Cup, Cecafa Club Championship and also reach Champions League group stages,” Karangwa said.

APR did not have a good season by their standards last year but still managed to win the league title on the very last day of the season on goal difference.

And reports from APR camp indicate that the club is planning a major assault in the transfer market, which will also see many fringe players leave the club.
