Expo management can do better

Dear editor,

The just concluded trade expo was quite an event and many will agree that it was better than what was on show last year.

I was however not impressed with the strategy of having all the road show trucks stationed next to each other.

In the end the different exhibitors had to share the same crowds and limited time slots. More so Bralirwa seemed to have an unfair advantage as compared to East African Breweries Limited (EABL).

The distance from the truck to where the EABL stand was located made it imperative for the MC to always endeavour to direct patrons to their beer stall.

I think next time these trucks should be stationed at different corners of the grounds.

I was also not happy to see that BATA Kenya had a stall yet Bata Rwanda was no where to be seen. How do Rwanda companies expect to compete in the East African Community if they cannot exhibit at home?

This is not the time to be complacent.

On top of efforts to improve customer care, companies should also enhance their marketing strategies if they are to compete with those from Kenya, Uganda or Tanzania.
