Rwanda men’s basketball team will play two friendly games against Morocco in preparation for the 2025 AfroBasket qualifiers scheduled in Rabat from February 21-23.
The team embarked on a training camp on Monday, February 10, as coach Cheikh Sarr continues to put his players through their paces before the Window 3 of Afrobasket 2025 qualifiers unfolds.
The team will play against selected local players on Friday morning, February 14, before leaving for Morocco on the very same day for the two friendlies scheduled for February 16 and 18.

Morocco will host both Group A and Group C qualifiers. The hosts Morocco are pooled in Group A alongside Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan, while Group C comprises Senegal, Cameroon, Gabon and Rwanda.
The top three teams from each group will earn tickets to AfroBasket 2025.

Each of the 20 national teams vying for a place at the 2025 AfroBasket has played at least three games in the two previous qualifying windows.
Rwanda won only one game at Window 2 of the AfroBasket qualifiers held in Dakar, Senegal, in November 2024, beating Gabon 90-63 in Group C.
The victory ended the country’s winless run, having lost its first two games of the qualifiers.
