President Paul Kagame yesterday reshuffled his ministers dropping one member and switching duties of some serving cabinet ministers.

Nothing exposes better a political leader's agenda than men and women he picks to form part of his team charged with delivering on his electoral mandate.

By and large, the new line up includes men and women who have been in the inner circles of cabinet under different portfolios.

Therefore, these are no strangers to agenda that defines this administration. They are people with a deep understanding of the core programs of this government.

By interchanging their duties, the appointing authority wants their skills to be put to optimum use. In other words, these are men and women who are not materially poor.

The appointing authority sees in them a team that can produce the much needed political and economic revolution.

A lot has been achieved over the past years. But one single obstacle that we need to overcome is the high levels of poverty.

Uplifting our people from this misery will require concerted efforts not only from this new cabinet but from each and every Rwandan.

But as individuals in the driver’s seat, the new cabinet shoulders the burden of guiding the nation towards to prosperity. Particularly, instruments such as the EDPRS have been put in place but what remains is expeditiously implementing these programs.

Serving as a Cabinet Minister is not an opportunity for one to enrich him/herself. Rather it’s a chance to skillfully serve your nation and make a difference in people’s lives.

Therefore those who think they have gotten a chance to milk dry the nation are definitely in a wrong forum.

What we, as Rwandans expect from the new line-up is better service delivery and result oriented programs.
