The Hater: I hate people who…

…do not respect their bosses and their offices.

It is really annoying that mid way into 2009 some people still mistake the friendship of their bosses to mean room for familiarity.

It is important to know your roles and boundaries before you start assuming that your boss is simply an old school friend.

If you fail to respect the one you have now then you may never get the chance to be in a position of authority except before your children!

If you are thinking of ignoring my advice then I am praying that you do not just lose your boss but your entire job by Tuesday next week.

…misuse water simply because they have access to a tap.

I do not posses an appointment letter from Electrogaz but enough common sense and courage to speak out.

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that the dry season is setting in. During such a time, water resources tend to be insufficient particularly for residents of Kigali city.

It is therefore very selfish of you to waste precious water washing your second hand Japanese piece of scrap otherwise referred to as a car while others wallow in misery with no water to drink.

Some even use gallons and gallons of water on their flower gardens. As The Hater I wish all such people could suffer from chronic thirst until their brains start working again.

…fall asleep while travelling with commuter taxis.

This is a very common sight for those of you who use these small vans to move around.

There is usually a fellow who probably spent the night typing away on his computer like yours truly or worked in a nightclub trying so hard to tame the sleep deficit by taking cat naps while in transit.

For your information, this is a public service vehicle and not a lodge. It is also not as comfortable as the luxury buses that go for long distances like Kigali – Nairobi.

It becomes a little interesting when these fellows forget to wake up before the taxi approaches the spot at which they are supposed to disembark!

…drive inconsiderately on dusty roads.

I really wonder why commonsense is such a rare commodity in this world.

I think the government should consider setting a factory to produce this vital necessity of life or at least importing it from somewhere.

Why for example does one have to drive so fast on a dusty road covering innocent pedestrians with a cloud of dust? What are you trying to prove?

This is not the time to practice your non-existent rallying skills. You are not the first person to own a car around here.

Please act in accordance to your age, you who is driving car number RAA6… See, I failed to get the rest of the numbers because of the dust cloud.

…think it is cool to disrespect barmaids.

I am still trying hard to find the person who invented alcohol so that I can have him charged for crimes against humanity.

For some reason, after a few beers, some folks think it is time to disrespect the barmaid. These wasted former thinkers are known to insult and call the barmaids all sorts of filthy names.

It costs you nothing to respect her. She is not your wife, daughter or a call lady. There is a Kenyan fellow I saw acting disrespectfully to the barmaid at Carwash one Thursday night. Yes you, you know I saw you Mr. Doc.
