Editor,

The news that senator Stanley Safari is hiding in Uganda should now lead to his arrest. He is clearly trying to evade justice by running away after being convicted of participating in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Interpol and Ugandan authorities should help in his apprehension as a sign of commitment to international justice. At the same time, it should serve as a lesson to all who participated in the genocide that no matter how long it takes, they will ultimately have to face justice.

At the same time, let no one entertain the notion that he is being persecuted. He was found guilty and has to face the consequences for his crimes.
