Handball: Rwanda’s U-20 team wins opener in Zone V games

Rwanda's Under-18 handball team started with a loss, but the under-20 team performed well in an opener of the Zone V games,IHF Trophy on Tuesday, October 25.

In the tournament held in Nairobi, Kenya, the Rwanda U20 squad triumphed, beating Djibouti 52-20. But the U18 boys side was narrowly defeated by Burundi 45 – 44.

The tournament continues Wednesday, October 26, when both Rwandan teams play against Somalia.

The national U18 team is in Group A alongside Uganda, Burundi and Somalia. Group B has Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti and South Sudan.

The U20 team is in Group B with Ethiopia, Djibouti and Somalia. Group has Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and South Sudan.

Rwanda’s teams left Kigali on Monday, October 24, a few hours before the tournament started.
