League results

Inyemera 1-1 La Charite
Musanze  3-0 Aspej

Aspej failed to close the gap on league leaders AS Kigali after Wednesday’s 3-0 defeat against Musanze in the national women football league.

Yvonne Mukamariza and Jackline Nabana gave Musanze a 2-0 half time lead before Agnes Uwamariya sealed Aspej’s fate in the second half condemning the Rwamagana based club to their first league defeat.

AS Kigali still top the league standings with 20 points. APR is second with 18 points, one more than Musanze who are third. Aspej are in fourth place with 16 points.

After Wednesday’s victory, Musanze coach Haruna Karagwa was delighted with his team’s display and insisted that the side still had a shot at the title.

"I’m happy with the team’s over all performance. I think we can still challenge AS Kigali and APR for the league trophy,” he said.
