The month of March is a month to party and indeed this weekend is proving that after all life is fully coming back, with the entertainment industry once again getting resuscitated.

This weekend Kigalians will shake off the cold rainy days with a number of concerts and performances happening over this weekend.

First off, Nigerian singer Oludemilade Martin Alejo, known as Ycee, is set to perform in Kigali at the "Love, Drunk & Party" show which will be held at Hotel Villa Portofino in Nyarutarama on Saturday March 19.

Ycee and JayWillz arrived in Rwanda at the same time.

He will perform alongside the likes of Logan Joe, B-Threy, Kivumbi, Gabiro Guitar, France, Kenny K-Shot, Ish Kevin, OG2tone and Derek YMG, among others.

The show will feature popular DJs including DJ Pyfo, Selecta Faba, Infinity and DJ Shooter will be on the ones and twos. Be sure to attend if you want to have fun this weekend.

The ‘Jagaban’ and ‘Omo Alhaji’ singer is also expected to engage in music projects with local artistes including Ish Kevin.

Revellers will part with Rwf10,000 for ordinary tickets and Rwf15,000 for VIP tickets as well as Rwf20,000 for VVIP tickets. To get a table with your friends, you will pay Rwf200, 000.

Jaywillz in town

Ycee is not the only Nigerian artiste in town this weekend. The ‘Juice’ singer arrived in Kigali with countrymate Chinonso Emmanuel Ome, known by the stage name Jaywillz, who is set to perform at a separate event today Friday.

Jaywillz came on the invitation of Drip City Entertainment, the same group which brought Ruger last month. The ‘Medicine’ singer will perform at the ‘March Madness concert’ at the Gilt club formerly, Platinum Club or Beirut in Kibagabaga

Though many might not know Jaywillz, he is one of the youngest promising Nigeria artistes with an appeal to young people and has released a number of hit songs including ‘Medicine’, ‘Abena’ and his latest ‘Melody’ with Diamond Platinumz.

Tickets go for Rwf15,000 for ordinary tickets and Rwf20, 000 for VIP while a table costs Rwf250, 000.

Miss Rwanda Finale

This Saturday all roads will lead to Intare Arena for the Miss Rwanda 2022 finale where 19 girls will be tussling it out for the crown.

It is that time of the year when all eyes will be on the screens as 19 finalists stand before the judges to convince them why they deserve a place in the top 10, which is the first step towards standing a real chance to win the crown and other titles.

So far contestant no.47, Kelia Ruzindana, seems to be assured of a place in the top 10 through the popular vote. By press time, Ruzindana had garnered over 32, 400 online votes and still counting while no.42 Queen Ndahiro Mugabekazi follows closely with over 29,000 votes.

Several titles that come with different benefits will be up for grabs when the girls hit the runway with the hope of claiming the crown. The event will kick off at 7pm.

If you must attend, plan early. Pre-sale tickets go for Rwf10, 000 while VIP tickets go for Rwf20, 000 and VVIP tickets Rwf30, 000. At the gate, the fee increases by Rwf10, 000.

Muyango, Buravan to perform at Green Hills Cultural Festival

Singers Jean Marie Vianney Muyango and Yvan Buravan will this Saturday perform at the cultural festival organised by Greenhills Academy where they will sing with the students and an annual event aimed at celebrating culture and Rwandan traditions.

It will be a case of young meets old when legendary Muyango and Buravan meet on the same stage at the festival which is dubbed ‘Rwanda Festival Day’, which is aimed at celebrating culture and inculcating traditional values and patriotism.

While the day is exclusive to the school, it marks an important event for the children to showcase their abilities. It last took place in February 2020 before the Covid-19 outbreak.
