Singer Platini Nemeye has said that his recent deal with Nigerian company, One Percent International, won’t affect his relationship with Kina Music, a record label under which he is signed.

Many of his music supporters had began  wondering whether the new deal would mean pushing Platini out of Kina Music but the former Dream Boyz’ singer clarified that he has no plan to quit the label but remains focused on promoting his music.

"I didn’t sign for a record label but a company, which means I am going nowhere, I won’t leave Kina Music. One Percent International will help promote my music to the international scene which is a way to support what I do with Kina Music,” Platini told The New Times.

 ‘Helena’ and ‘Atansiyo’ are two of the singer’s top songs that attracted the attention from the Nigerians before he was contacted for talks.

"They heard about my songs, a lot about me as a singer and a performer, then they contacted me asking for partnership. Since their main focus is to promote music, I welcomed their proposal,”

Before the contract, the two parties have been discussing about the deal for five months before the singer departed for Nigeria a fortnight ago to put pen to paper.

Platini has been pursuing a solo music career since his ‘brother in music’ TMC left for the United States to pursue his university studies.

It took him a lot of energy to go solo but his entourage helped him bounce back and build a name for himself and come out of the Dream Boys’ shadow.

He’s now using the connections he has in the music circle by signing partnership deals that could help his music go places.

 "When we started music, the purpose was to earn a living and it is so obvious that yet, it is possible. But now the purpose is to raise our country’s flag high and build some connections as well as get  international power play,” he said.
