GASABO - Kigali Institute of Education (KIE) is set  to hold it fourth graduation ceremony this Friday.

According to the Vice Rector in charge of academics Dr. James Vuningoma, this year’s graduation ceremony will see 602 students graduating in different disciplines. He however said that one of the students who was  supposed to graduate has since passed away.

"Out of the 602 student set to graduate, 212 are female and 390 males graduating in different fields. Unfortunately one male passed away before the day of graduation,” Vuningoma said in a telephone interview. 

He added that the graduands will be in different categories including those who will get Masters’ degrees, Bachelors’ degrees, post graduates, distance training programmes and diplomas in different fields.

"This is the first time in the history of the institution to award Masters’ degree honours and we hope the number of people graduating in this category will steadily grow in the coming academic years,” Vuningoma added.   

KIE started its operations in 1999 as a young public institution of higher learning, the institute is committed to providing professionally qualified, competent and all round skilled human resources. 

The number of students has significantly grown from 300 students they started with to over 3,000 currently.
