RUHANGO — Bweramana residents in the Ruhango district will now receive local government services in a clean and spacious environment after the construction of the new sector offices.

The office block worth Rwf.30m was commissioned on March 8, by the Mayor, Celestine Twagirumukiza and other district officials, at a ceremony attended by a residents.

The block was constructed by the government using funds channeled through the Common Development Fund (CDF), and the district. It comes as a solution to the problem  of sufficient office space.

Ernest Uwimana, the Sector Executive Secretary, says the block is an achievement that will speed up service delivery to residents.

Uwimana noted that the next struggle is to solicit for modern office equipment and furniture - of which the Mayor promised support.

Addressing residents and local leaders, Twagirumukiza urged them to step up the fight against corruption, by adopting a culture of zero tolerance to the vice.

A recent report compiled by the Office of the Ombudsman, indicates that corruption is more frequent at grassroots leadership levels.

To this end, the Mayor asked residents to play a vital role in the fight against it.
