MUKURA Victory Sport have booked their ticket into the round of last-16 of the 2020 Peace Cup after brushing aside Rwanda Premier League rivals Bugesera in the first round.

The 2018 Peace Cup winners, Mukura, secured their spot on Wednesday after beating Bugesera 5-3 on aggregate, thanks to a 3-2 second-leg win at Bugesera Stadium and 2-1 victory from the first leg on February 5, at Huye Stadium.

The Huye-based side advanced to the next round along with 15 other teams, including, among others, local heavyweights APR and Rayon Sports as well as former winners Police and holders AS Kigali.

Of the 16 teams, four – Aspor, Gorilla, Musanze and SC Kiyovu – progressed as best losers in the first round. Other teams in the upcoming round of 16 include; AS Muhanga, Etincelles, Gicumbi, Marines, Rutsiro, Sunrise and Vision.

Fixtures of the first-leg are due March 14-15, with the decisive encounters scheduled for March 17-18. The quarter-finals will be played between May 22 and June 13, whereas the semi-finals are slated for June 26 – July 1.

The final is set for July 4.
