Rising Ugandan disc jockey Kii, who is among the best in her country, will once again light up Kigali in a two-night show that kicks off Friday.

Dubbed 'Party with DJ Kii', the event will take place at the new Crystal Lounge located at the rooftop of the KABC building in Kimihurura, and will be hosted by some of Kigali's top celebrities, including Miss Rwanda Photogenic 2019 Claudine Uwase Muyango.

This comes on the heels of DJ Kii&039;s successful US and Canada tour, which reached world capitals such as Washington DC, Montreal and many others.

Speaking to The New Times, Gloria Gatera, one of the organisers of the event, said that inviting DJ Kii to Rwanda was in line with making Kigali the entertainment and sports hub of Africa, attracting big musicians, both locally and internationally.

Another thing, Gatera said, DJ Kii's performance in Kigali should inspire young talented female deejays to join the male-dominated industry and shine.

"This is a female-supportive event aimed at encouraging more young girls to join the entertainment industry, which is currently on the rise. We look forward to hosting more big artistes including Nigerians on the rooftop. This is just the beginning,” she said.

For Gatera, Kigali is Africa's entertainment hub, and such events are a necessity to cater for the hundreds of tourists who visit Rwanda every month.

"We are committed to hosting more such events at Crystal as a contribution to Rwanda's burgeoning music industry. The aim is to bring vibes and good music to everyone."

The Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB) said in its latest report that MICE tourism generated at least $95 million in 2023, a 48 per cent increase from 2022, largely due to sports promotion and entertainment events, among others.

DJ Kii, 21, is one of the promising Ugandan deejays hosting parties around the world. She last performed in Kigali on New Year's Eve at Onomo Hotel alongside top DJs such as Dope Caesar, Lito and many others.
