Rayon Sports Women's Football Club secured their first topflight league title on Saturday, March 23, ending AS Kigali WFC’s multi-year dominance.

Rayon’s triumph came after defeating Muhazi United 1-0 to move to 58 points, seven clear of second-placed AS Kigali which remains with two games to play in the league.

Jeannine Mukandayisenga's goal sealed the win, propelling Rayon Sports to the top spot in their debut season in the First Division League.

While Rayon Sports celebrated their triumph, Rambura WFC and Freedom WFC were relegated to the second division after finishing at the bottom of the league.

On the bright side, Forever WFC and APR WFC were promoted to the topflight league after making it to the second division’s league final.

Rayon Sports now set their sights on the Peace Cup where they are at the semi-finals
