DJ Pius will host his inaugural festival dubbed Nyamavore.

1. Mardi Gras Celebration with DJ Ayane

This Friday, March 1, club lovers are in for a treat. It’s a Hottempah birthday celebration, and the collective brings the "Mardi Gras with DJ Ayane” event. Attendees will be treated to musical mixes by Hottempah Collective from 7pm to 2am at Atelier Du Vin, Rwandex.

The French-born DJ is the founder of YAYA Club, a web series showcasing her performances in the club. She specialises in genres like amapiano, hip-hop, afrobeats, and funk, among others.

Theme colours for the event are gold, green, and purple, so attendees are encouraged to dress accordingly. Entrance fee is Rwf20,000 at the door.

2. Freaky Friday at Inferno Lounge Bar

For those craving a night of clubbing, head over to Inferno Lounge Bar (Kacyiru, next to Kurry Kingdom) for "Freaky Friday” hosted by Muyango. DJs Briane, Maxx, and Rice will be spinning the hottest tracks to keep you on your feet all night long.

3. Nyamavore: Let’s Meat Up

Indulge in a carnivorous feast at "Nyamavore” this Saturday, March 2.

Head over to Mundi Centre, Rwandex for an all-you-can-eat nyama choma buffet with a selection of meats on offer. Entrance is priced at Rwf25,000 and includes unlimited consumption.

But that’s not all! The venue will also provide entertainment for children, including a trampoline, PlayStation, virtual reality games, and more. And if you need another reason to join in the fun, various artistes will be performing live, including Kiki Toure, DJ Marnaud, DJ Pius, and many more.

4. R&B and Zouk Nights at Boho

Experience the soulful rhythms of R&B and Zouk music at Boho’s themed nights. On Friday, groove to the sounds of R&B with DJs Inno and Bruce, while Saturday brings a Zouk-exclusive night with Deejays Fiston and Bruce. Cocktails are priced at Rwf10,000, and organisers promise "a night of romance and rhythm.”

5. Cinema: ‘Dune Part 2’ and ‘Bob Marley: One Love’

For movie buffs, it’s an exciting time! If you’ve already enjoyed the 2021 American science fiction film ‘Dune’, then get ready because ‘Dune: Part Two’ starring Zendaya is now playing in cinemas. You can catch the premiere at Canal Olympia Rebero from Friday to Sunday, March 3, with screenings every day at 8 pm.

Additionally, don’t miss out on ‘Bob Marley: One Love’, the 2024 American biographical drama musical film that chronicles the life of reggae legend Bob Marley. This film showcases his rise to fame in the mid-1970s up until his passing in 1981. Screenings will take place on Friday, March 1, and Sunday, March 3, at 5:30 pm.

6. Live Music Paint and Sip at Bicu Lounge

Are you a fan of live bands? Well, you’re in luck! This Friday, March 1, from 7pm to 10pm, Visata Band will be performing live. And here’s an exciting bonus; in celebration of Women’s History Month, all women will enjoy a 10 per cent discount on all meals and drinks.

Looking for a creative outlet? Join Bicu Lounge and Kigali Arts and Entertainment this Saturday, March 2, for a Paint and Sip event. The entrance fee is Rwf20,000, which includes a canvas, paint, and a welcome drink. Bicu Lounge is located at Hotel Isimbi, 7th floor.

7. Nature Kigali Drink and Paint

On Sunday, March 3, Nature Kigali presents ‘Drink and Paint’, tailored for those with a creative spark. The painting session will be led by artist Gabin Mazina, for Rwf15,000, you’ll receive paint supplies and a refreshing drink.

The session will run from 1pm to 7pm at Nature Kigali, located in Nyarutarama.

"This is a fun way to end your week and embark on an amazing painting experience to unleash your creativity,” said the organisers.

8. Rwanda Basketball League

Prepare for an action-packed weekend of basketball as the league season resumes! On Friday, March 1, UGB will compete against Inspired Generation at 6pm, followed by Orion versus REG at 8pm, all taking place at the Lycée de Kigali Gymnasium.

Admission fees are Rwf3,000 and Rwf5,000 for courtside seating.

Then, on Saturday, don’t miss Kigali Titans and Espoir at 3pm, and later, Kepler against REG at 5pm both taking place at BK Arena. Admission fees are Rwf3,000, Rwf5,000 for VIP, and Rwf10,000 for courtside seats.
