Rayon Sports’ SG, Patrick Namenye, poured cold water on captain Abdul Rwatubyaye's exit rumors following his Instagram post from FC Shkupi training.

Rayon Sports skipper Abdul Rwatubyaye is reported to be in Macedonia where he is linked to a move back former club FC Schkupi.

The Rwanda international was believed to be undergoing treatment on the injury he sustained during Rayon Sports’ defeat at the hands Police on January 28, in the Heroes Cup semifinals.

However, Blues supporters and the club management were surprised to see the defender posting photos of him training in Shkupi's colors on Saturday, February 3, with caption "always feels extra good to be here starting over my unfinished business in Europe.”

The Macedonian Football League’s post highlighting a video of Rwatubyaye confirming his return to the league also fueled reports that the defender may have completed a return to Schkupi.

Regardless of the posts, however, Namenye told Times Sport that the photos mean nothing as long as "He never handed in a transfer request, nor did we receive any offer from any team for the player. He is still our player.”

"We saw the photos [in Shkupi's colors] just like others. What we know is that he is working on his recovery, and we hope to have him back to action after two weeks."

Rwatubyaye, 26, rejoined Rayon Sports in July 2022 on a two-year deal, just a month after he left FC Shkupi on mutual agreement after he picked up a terrible heel injury in January during club’s midseason training in Turkey and was sidelined for the remainder of the season.

He still has five months remaining on his contract.
