Dear Editor,

I understand that, this year’s Development Partners’ Meeting is focusing on empowerment of the private sector as a strategy to achieve our development goals. This is a bright move considering the fact that the private sector contributes highly to the country’s development.

Rwanda should also mobilise her own resources through strengthening the public private partnerships (PPPs) such that we achieve our set targets. We cannot rely on donors all the way.

Donors may come in, just to support us but our programmes should be in line with our national priorities. I hope that the ongoing meeting moots new ideas on what we must do to accelerate our development goals based on what we have achieved so far.
