Police FC striker Abedi Bigirimana has expressed confidence that his team can beat rivals APR to this year’s Rwanda Premier League title.

The 2023/2024 league season is in the second round and there is a tough contest among three teams, APR, Police and Musanze, at the top.

The law enforcers are sitting in second place of the league table with 31 points, two behind leaders APR.

"We are capable of winning the title but it will require us to be in good shape of mind and exhibit much determination against top teams in this division,” Bigirimana said.

The Burundian striker has promised to score more goals to play a role in Police’s title race.

Bigirimana has seven goals. APR striker Victor Mbaoma is the top scorer with 12 goals, Ani Elijah (Bugesera) has nine goals, Peter Agblevor (Police FC) has eight goals, and Abdourahmani Rukundo (Amagaju) has seven goals.

"I’m looking forward to achieving something special here by scoring more goals. I also want to win the league. Police FC needs to keep together if we are to win the league this season” he noted.

Police FC was founded in 2000 by Rwanda National Police (RNP). In 2003, the club won the second division national championship and was promoted to the Rwanda National Football League.
