Vision FC thrash Gicumbi FC to maintain top spot

Vision FC continued their top form on Saturday, December 30, with a convincing 3-0 victory over former top-flight side Gicumbi FC in an electrifying second division league match held at Mumena Stadium.

The home side dominated the match from the beginning and it took them just 18 minutes to open the scores through forward Radjabu Mbanjineza who has been in fine form, having recently scored a brace against SORWATE.

Striker Rashid Mutebi doubled the lead for Vision FC in the 38th minute to take the game in control before half time.

But the 2-0 lead didn’t stop the team from attacking looking to increase their goal difference in the second half. Ibrahim Nshyimiyimana piled more misery on Gicumbi after netting the third goal in the 72nd minute to cement a win for his side.

With the victory, Vision FC extended their lead at the summit of Group B table with 24 points, four points clear of second placed AS Muhanga who beat Interforce FC 1-0 at Muhanga stadium.

Meanwhile, Espoir FC closed the gap at the top of Group B after beating Nyagatare FC 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.
