RE: "New initiative to promote Kigali City as a brand” (The New Times, May 30).

It was with great pleasure that I read this article on the new initiative being taken to promote Kigali City as a brand, while sipping a refreshing cup of Rwandan tea.

Kigali, which I proudly call my second home, is a fascinating city. From the time you arrive at Kigali International Airport, this spotlessly clean city, nestled in the heart of Africa, makes an indelible impression on your mind.

But, there is definitely more to this model city than just meets the eye—it is a city with a heart and one filled with warm and friendly people.

It is always said, "People make the difference.”

Without any doubt, the new initiative to promote Kigali City as a brand will meet with great success.

As Jon Atever, the co-founder of Impact Hub Kigali very rightly remarked, "Kigali is changing rapidly and this campaign is an opportunity to reflect on this change and to celebrate the innovation and cosmopolitanism that are emerging features of Rwanda's capital”.
