Former Rwandan international Jean-Bertrand Iradukunda has officially announced his retirement from professional football after 11 years in the game.

His retirement comes after parting ways with Musanze FC earlier than expected. After his move to Canada, on October 19, people speculated that he had given up playing football for good. However, he later clarified his intentions and expressed his desire to find a team abroad.

In an emotional social media post, Iradukunda confirmed his retirement from football, saying, "I am officially retiring as a professional football player.

"Thank God for everything that happened in this journey.”

Iradukunda's professional football journey began in 2012 with Isonga FC. He joined APR FC in 2014.

After leaving APR, he had successful stints at Bugesera FC and Police FC before joining Mukura VS.

In 2018, he took on a new challenge with Gasogi United FC before venturing outside Rwanda to join Township Rollers in Botswana, in 2021.

He later returned to Rwanda and joined Kiyovu Sports. This year, he signed a two-year contract with Musanze FC.
