Police FC midfielder Djibrine Aboubakar Akuki insists his side must do all they can to beat Rayon Sports to maintain their unbeaten run in the Primus National League.

Vincent Mashami’s side have been unstoppable recently, winning six games in a row in the league. The law enforcers now have a tough task to keep their winning streak in control when they face Rayon Sports at Kigali Pele Stadium on Tuesday, November 28.

Prior to the match, Aboubakar said that Police have now found their rhythm and insists there is no chance the Blues will stand in their way ahead of the encounter.

"It will be a great game. But I am very sure that we will take the three points. They are also title contenders and we must beat them," Aboubakar told Times Sport.

Despite a going through a slow start to the campaign which saw them losing to APR and Etincelles as well as drawing with Mukura Victory Sports in their opening three matches, Police have since not looked back as they have gone on to win six straight matches.

They are now third on the table with 22 points, just a point adrift of leaders Musanze.

Aboubakar, who was on target when Police beat Amagaju 2-1 on Saturday, November 25, said determination has been key to the team’s top form.

"Determination, unity and discipline has kept police going further. We didn't start the season well but we have been able to turn results around and we are on course," the former Mukura Victory Sports and AS Kigali player said.

"It is still early but we have shown our credentials and we can fight for the title," he added.

Aboubakar joined Police in July and has established himself among Mashami’s key players as club continues push for the first league title.
