Kigali gears up for an exciting weekend filled with diverse events catering to various tastes.

The New Times has handpicked a selection of six must-attend gatherings, ensuring you make the most of your weekend plans.

Kigali Kulture Konnect (November 24)

Celebrate cultural vibrancy this Friday, November 24, at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV), formerly Camp Kigali.

Presented by MA Africa, the Kigali Kulture Konnect beckons with a lineup of artistes, including Rumaga Junior, Ruti Joel, Inyamibwa Cultural Band, and Shauku Band.

According to the organizers it’ll be an evening where cultural expressions converge. Entrance fees start at Rwf5,000, Rwf10,000 for VIP, Rwf,25,000 for VVIP and a table of 6 for Rwf200,000.

Couple’s Gaming Night (November 24)

Embark on a gaming adventure with your significant other at Couple’s Gaming Night this Friday, November 24, at Funky Monkey Arcade, Mundi Center, Rwandex from 4 pm until midnight.

For a fee of Rwf10,000, you and your partner will enjoy an hour of game initiation along with a soft drink.

Revelers have an option to explore the excitement further with exclusive couple’s packages and engage in friendly competitions on platforms like Playstation, Pool, Xbox, Kicker, and Virtual Reality Simulator Racing. It's a night filled with fun, competition, and shared gaming memories.

Destination Good Times (November 25)

Renowned Rwandan-born DJ Alisha, now based in Uganda, is set to ignite the night at the Destination Good Times party.

Held at Atelier du Vin and sponsored by Heineken to commemorate their 150th anniversary, the event will take place on Saturday, November 25, 5 pm, DJ Alisha, fresh from captivating audiences at the Nyege Nyege Music Festival in Jinja, Uganda, vows to deliver a great performance for Rwandan fans.

Gutegwa Amatwi Poetry Night (November 25)

Experience an evening of poetic brilliance on Saturday, November 25, at Cafe Envision. Marumbo Sichinga, Belinda Moonchild Bee, Armah Blay, Mufasa The Poet, and special guest Kivumbi King will captivate the audience.

Entrance is Rwf10,000, rising to Rwf15,000 at the gate.

Iwacu Muzika Festival Gakondo Edition (November 26)

Prepare for a cultural extravaganza at the Iwacu Muzika Festival's Gakondo Edition, a celebration of Rwandan arts through performances by artists spanning various genres and generations.

Taking place this Sunday, November 26, at BK Arena, the event will showcase talents like Cecile Kayirebwa, Muyango, Ruti Joel, Cyusa, Sofia Nzayisenga, and the Ibihame by’Imana cultural dance troupe.

Whether you crave the nostalgia of traditional tunes or the allure of modern renditions, this festival promises a rich tapestry of Rwandan musical heritage. Ticket options include Rwf10,000, Rwf15,000, and Rwf20,000 for platinum seats.

Akanigi Kanjye Concert (November 26)

Concluding the weekend on a cultural note, Intayoberana Cultural Troupe presents Akanigi Kanjye Concert on Sunday, November 26, from 4 pm. Ticket prices range from Rwf5,000 to Rwf25,000 for early birds available online. At the gate, regular entry is Rwf8,000, VIP access is Rwf15,000, and the VVIP experience is priced at Rwf30,000.

For a group experience, tables are on offer for six people at Rwf150,000 for early birds and Rwf180,000 on the day.
