The much-anticipated Davydenko and Tuff Gang collaborative album, the first project to feature almost all the members of the group since their split, is in the final stages of production and debuts on all major streaming platforms in December, the producer who is also the brains behind the project has confirmed.

Speaking to The New Times on Tuesday, Davydenko said that all production work on the project has been completed and that the tape is ready to drop sometime next month.

This comes after various fans of the group took to social media to claim that the release of the project has been delayed since its snippets were leaked.

"The audio production of the album is already done and we are currently shooting the visuals which is why the project has been delayed a bit. We also faced some challenges, but now everything is set and the album that many have been waiting for will be available before the end of the year," the music producer told The New Times.

Another thing, Davydenko said, the album features members of Tuff Gang, one of the most famous and pioneering street rap acts in Rwanda, which is the main reason it took a lot of energy and work to put it together.

"We started working on the project in 2020 as a tribute to Jay Polly, one of the gang members who is no longer with us. Believe me, this is a game changer project that will give all hip-hop fans in the country a taste of Tuff Gang and the crew&039;s influence on the Rwandan hip hop scene," Davydenko said

The track list and other artistes to be featured on the tape will be announced in the coming weeks, he added.

About Tuff Gang

Tuff Gang Crew with the help of producer Licky Licky pioneered street hip-hop that narrated the gang lifestyle of Kigali back in 2008.

In mid-2009, the media developed a row with the Tuff Gang after most of the gang members of the crew were involved in drug use and violent behaviors. This almost brought the group’s career to a close.

In 2015, Tuff Gang parted ways and every rapper embarked on a solo career, making some of the crew members successful like Jay Polly and Bull Dog.

P-Fla, Fireman, and Green P became notorious for being in and out of prison and rehab over drug abuse. The tension led to the deadliest ‘beef’ on Rwanda’s hip hop scene and made members of the crew release back-to-back diss tracks against other rappers.

Tuff Gang released more than 15 songs collectively including ‘Amaganya,’ ‘Kwicumu,’ and ‘Gereza’ among others, all of which continued to be aired on the radio despite the crew breaking up.
