Renowned Rwandan artiste James Ruhumuriza, better known by his stage name as King James, has announced to stage a concert during which he will celebrate 20 years doing music. The mega concert, titled 20 Years of King James, is scheduled for mid-2026. James made the development after his performance which closed Iwacu Muzika Festival in Rubavu over the weekend. The seasoned performer revealed that preparations for the mega concert are already underway, promising to deliver a memorable experience for the fans who have showed him love since he launched his music career in 2006. The artiste emphasized the importance of starting preparations well in advance to ensure the celebration meets expectations. It's better to start early so that I can also have time to prepare, because we will be working with many people in different ways, so it requires a lot of time, he told journalists after his performance in Rubavu. Reflecting on his musical journey, King James expressed deep gratitude for the cross-generational appeal of his music. “Seeing people from different age groups enjoying my songs has been one of my greatest sources of motivation throughout my career.” The artist already has eight albums to his name including Umugisha, Umuvandimwe, Biracyaza, Ntibisanzwe, Urukundo, Meze Neza, Ubushobozi and Gukura. About King James King James began his music career in 2006 but it wasn’t until 2009 that he turn professional with the release of Intinyi, which marked his breakthrough into the Rwandan music scene. He won the prestigious Primus Guma Guma Superstar Season 2 besides a number of trophies Salax Awards among others.
