Rwanda’s showbiz has in the past seven days delivered hot news more than ever before.

Kendrick Lamar, a hip hop legend, is expected to perform in Kigali in December, while Miss Rwanda Photogenic 2019 Claudine Uwase Muyango and AS Kigali goalkeeper, Yves Kimenyi, announced their wedding dates.

Kendrick Lamar to headline ‘Move Africa’ in Kigali

Celebrated American hip hop legend Kendrick Lamar Duckworth, popularly known as Kendrick Lamar, has been announced as the headliner of ‘Move Afrika: A Global Citizen Experience’, first Africa music tour slated for December 6, in Kigali.

The show will take place on December 6, at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, headlined by Grammy Award winning star Kendrick Lamar, while his PgLang, an independent multi creative services company specialized in music and visual media production, will serve as the curator of the tour for the next five years, from 2023 until 2028.

More artistes to perform at the show will be announced.

Art Rwanda Ubuhanzi third edition launched

ArtRwanda-Ubuhanzi, a project that seeks to identify young artistic talent across a wide spectrum of art disciplines and offer them the requisite skills and tools to shine, is back for its third edition.

The audition is expected to kick off on November 15, in Huye District and move across other districts in the country. It will conclude on December 7, in Kigali City.

Launched in August 2018, the talent search is a joint project by the Ministry of Youth and Culture and Imbuto Foundation with a mission to improve and support Rwanda’s art sector.

Dr. Nganji gets one-year suspended sentence for drug abuse

The Kicukiro Primary court last week sentenced Dominique Ngabonziza, popularly known as Dr Nganji, one of the pioneers of the Kinyatrap sub-genre and the brains behind the Green Ferry Music record label, to a one-year suspended sentence for drug abuse.

Nganji was arrested on October 16, alongside his two friends, Blaise Gatsinda Shema, and Aury Chris Dukuze, after being found with Cannabis, also known as marijuana.

The renowned producer and his friends were given a one-year suspended sentence after reaching a plea bargain. They were all immediately released from prison.

Socialite Muyango and footballer Kimenyi to tie the knot

Miss Rwanda Photogenic 2019 and socialite, Claudine Uwase Muyango and AS Kigali goalkeeper, Yves Kimenyi, are set to tie the knot on January 6, 2024.

The celebrity couple will finally take their relationship to the next level after a two-year engagement.

The New Times learnt that the couple had scheduled their civil wedding however Kimenyi got injured and had to go through surgery.

Kenny Kshot drops new album ‘Superman’
