Gorilla host Marines as Kiyovu face Etoile de l'Est

SC Kiyovu vs Etoile de L'Est (Kigali Stadium, 18:00)

SC Kiyovu will be looking for crucial three points to boost their chances to join the top three when they host Etoile de L'Est as the Primus National League enters the eighth day of the season. The game kicks off at 18:0pm, at Kigali Pele Stadium.

Petros Koukouras’s side is seventh on the 16-team table with 12 points, 5 points behind leaders Musanze and APR, and one adrift of third and fourth-placed Police and Amagaju who have their matches on Saturday against Gasogi United and Amagaju FC at Bugesera Stadium and Kigali Pele Stadium, respectively.

Victory for the Mumena-based team will lift them to third position with 15 points.

Petros Koukouras admitted that "it’s going to be a tough game’ but emphasized that his players were fit for the challenge.

"We know we have been facing a lot of challenges but we need to put everything aside and try to correct maximum points," he said.

"We expect strong back-up from our fans as we push for a top-four finish this season. We just need to be calm and use well our chances."

On the other hand, on Friday, at Kigali Pele Stadium, Gorilla who is in ninth place, with nine points, will seek to close the gap on top teams when they host Marines who are sitting in 15th place with six points.

The action will continue on Saturday as Bugesera host Amagaju, Mukura takes on Etincelles, and Gasogi United hosts Police FC.

The match of the day will be between Rayon Sports and APR on Sunday, at Kigali Pele Stadium.

Elsewhere, after the dismissal of head coach Hassan Muhire, bottom side, Sunrise will host Muhazi United while table leaders Musanze will face AS Kigali at Ubworoherane Stadium.
