Police FC forward Bienvenue Mugenzi says he has shown Kiyovu Sports that he is the same player they groomed before letting him go.

Mugenzi was among a number players released by the Green Baggies in June but he made the club pay the price for the decision when he assisted Muhadjiri Hakizimana's goal and also netted the third goal in Police FC’s 3-1 thrashing of Kiyovu Sports in the Primus National League at the Kigali Pele Stadium on Friday, October 20.

The versatile attacker thanked Kiyovu for helping him to grow his career before accusing the club of treat him badly until they released him.

He admits his performance showed the club what they are lacking after his exit.

"Kiyovu helped me to grow. My goal and assist against them was to show that they made me grow and raise my name. I had to show them that I am still around. They taught me to compete and I am proud of the opportunity they gave me when I was with them," Mugenzi told Times Sport.

Commenting on victory against Kiyovu, Mugenzi emphasized that his team went into the match with a common mission to collect all three points and, fortunately, the result came in their favor.

"It is a game that went well for my side because we came to win and we did that. We hope to be in a top position at the end of the season."
