Rayon Sports captain Abdul Rwatubyaye says he is concerned by danger that Etoile de L'Est may pose to his side when the pair face off in Wednesday’s Primus National League clash at Kigali Pele Stadium.

The Blues have endured a slow start to the season, winning just once and drawing three times in the last four league games, a run that saw head coach Yamen Zelfani shown exit door after less than three months at the club.

The club will be playing their first game without the Tunisian tactician on the touchline and a victory against Etoile de l’Est would see them return to winning ways after dropping crucial points during Saturday’s tense 2-2 draw against Marines in Rubavu.

However, Rwatubyaye cautioned his teammates against the qualities that the visitors have at their disposal.

"They are a team to watch carefully because we don't have to drop other points against the middle table teams,” the defender said.

"We work well under pressure. We know how sweet it is to get three points.”

Rayon currently sit in sixth place six points and a win on Wednesday would see them close the gap at the top by four points, with a further game in hand.

They are level on points with Etoile who have played a game in advance.

Rwatubyaye says his team thrives in adversity.

"We just have to keep working hard - and we’re disappointed with the results that we’ve got against Marines but we need to put it aside and try to focus on next step.” he noted

Rayon Sports players held their final training session on Tuesday without defender Aimable Nsabimana and goalkeeper Adolphe Hakizimana who are both injured as well as Didier Jr Mucyo is likely to miss the match due to illness.
