The ‘Mizero Children of Rwanda’, cultural troupe, have been invited for the annual Brave Festival’ in Poland, The New Times has learnt.

The invitation was sent by Anastazja Golaj, a senior official of the Brave Festival (BF) to Jean Paul Samputu, the founder of Mizero Children of Rwanda. The troupe, is expected to attend the festival next year on June 26 to July 11.

According to the Polish invitation the "Brave Festival Against Cultural Exile”, is held every year with groups from all over the world showcasing their traditional cultures.

The children will go to Poland a week earlier to take part in drumming/dancing workshops, which would lead to a big performance.

"This would be a way for the kids from different countries and cultures to find a link through their art. The performance and workshops will be led by a very good director, and a group of artists from Europe,” Golaj said.

The festival also invited youth from ‘Break Dance ‘a Ugandan based project. Also invited are children from Nepal and Zimbabwe.

Samputu told The New Times that it would be a great pleasure for Mizero Children to participate in the festival.

"This would be an opportunity for the Rwandan children, most of whom are orphans, to gain from the rich experience,” Samputu said.
