Musanze FC have lodged a formal complaint with the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), accusing Amagaju FC assistant coach Japhet Imurora of alleged match manipulation ahead of their 2–0 home defeat on matchday 27 at Ubworoherane Stadium on Friday, April 17. A source within FERWAFA confirmed to Times Sport on Tuesday that the complaint had been received and referred to the Disciplinary Committee for review. “We received a complaint from Musanze FC accusing Amagaju FC assistant coach Japhet Imurora of match manipulation. The matter has been forwarded to the Disciplinary Committee,” the source said. The complaint follows the circulation of alleged audio recordings purportedly involving Imurora. The recordings are said to capture conversations referencing discussions with Musanze FC goalkeeper Habarurema Gahungu regarding arrangements related to the match. However, speaking to journalists after Friday’s game, Imurora denied any involvement in influencing the match outcome, insisting the circulating recordings are not his. “The voices being shared are not mine. It is all fake. I cannot engage in such wrongdoings,” he said. FERWAFA’s Disciplinary Committee is expected to review the case and determine the appropriate course of action.
