Marines FC striker Arthur Gitego says scoring against the two biggest clubs in the Rwanda Premier League this season is no fluke as his hard work is paying off.

Gitego netted an 89th minute equalizer for Marines against APR in a week 3 game on September 23 as his side drew 2-2. He repeated the same heroics on Saturday, October 7, as he came from the bench to score an 86th minute goal to salvage a point for his side against Rayon.

The 21-year-old striker maintains that he goes all out in games and that is what has kept him in shape.

"I am very elated with my goal and performance . It has been great so far as I have netted crucial goals against APR and Rayon to give my team a point," Gitego told Times Sport.

"There is actually no secret to my late goals. I always work hard and when I am on the bench I study the match. I thank God for my goal on Saturday."

The Rwanda U23 national team forward further noted that his club&039;s game with Rayon was tough but he was determined to find the back of the net when he came on to replace Thaiba Mbonyumami in the 60th minute.

"The game was not easy as usual considering the fact that Rayon is a strong side. As I came on in the second half, I promised myself to score even if I get one chance," he added.

Gitego netted 10 league goals in the 2022/23 league season. In the new campaign, he has netted twice already in five games.
