SIXTEEN KARATE players have started intensive preparations ahead of the 15th African Senior Karate Championships scheduled for August 10-16 in Dakar, Senegal.

SIXTEEN KARATE players have started intensive preparations ahead of the 15th African Senior Karate Championships scheduled for August 10-16 in Dakar, Senegal.

According to Ferwaka technical director, Guy Rurangayire, the players who are camped at Amahoro stadium comprise six female and ten male.

Players in camp include; Vanily Ngarambe (Male Kumite), Noel Nkuranyabahizi (Male Kata), Sylvestre Twajamahoro (Male Kata)Razia Uwase (Female Kumite&Kata), Rehema Kabera (Female Kumite), Aisha Umuhoza (Famale Kata), Jean Paul Shyirambere (Male Kumite).

Others are Solange Gashagaza (Female Kumite), Sakina Cyuzuzo, (Female Kata&Kumite), Jean Claude Kumi (Male Kata), Jules Rutayisire (Male Kumite), Laurent Barawigirira (Male Kumite), Providence Mutuyimana, (Female Kumite), Christian Rurangayire (Male Kumite), Omar Usengimana (Male Kumite) and Emery Ntungane (Male Kumite).

In the last edition held in Morocco, Rwanda won two bronze medals courtesy of Sylvestre Twajamahoro on the Individual in Kata category while Rehema Kabera clinched the Individual Female Kumite under 50 Kg.
