Last week, Rwandan rapper Kivumbi King was added on the long line up of performers at this year’s Ferwaba all-star game slated for Saturday, while Ish Kevin announced the release date and track-list of his debut album to premiere September 21.

DJ Lenzo, DJ Yolo, DJ Dallas, DJ Kavori, and DJ Noodlot progress to The Mützig Amabeats DJ competition finals

The Mützig Amabeats DJ competition reached its peak in an electrifying ceremony that took place at Kigali City Tower on Saturday, September 16, with only the most skillful and crowd-pleasing DJs securing their places to the finals.

Out of the 10 contestants who had battled fiercely in the semi-finals, only five made it to the final stage of the competition scheduled to take place in October.

These top five DJs are DJ Lenzo, DJ Yolo, DJ Dallas, DJ Kavori, and DJ Noodlot.

This competition, sponsored by Bralirwa Plc, aims to shine a spotlight on DJs, highlighting their talent and the quality of music in Rwanda. It also serves as a platform for business opportunities, networking, and leisure activities through competitive events.

Anne Kansiime awaited in Kigali

Ugandan star comedian Anne Kubiryaba Kansiime will yet again grace the next edition of Seka Live comedy series alongside comedians Patrick Rusine, Herve Kimenyi and

Don Andre. The show is slated for September 24, at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (former Camp Kigali).

The 36-year-old "African queen of comedy” last performed at Seka Live to a full house last year and the show was a success. She first participated in Seka Live in August 26, 2017 during the third edition of the comedy show at Kigali Serena Hotel.

The Seka Live comedy series which was initiated in March, 2017, saw performances from local and regional comedians like Teacher Mpamire, Herbert Mendo Ssegujja, Burundian Kigingi, Patrick Salvador, Loyiso Gola, Eric Omondi, Hillary Okello and Daniel Omara among many others in its previous editions.

Kivumbi King to perform at the Ferwaba all-star game

Rwandan rapper and lyricist Kivumbi King was recently added to the lineup of performers at this year’s Ferwaba all-star game slated for September 26.

The young Rwandan rapper joins South Africa’s Nasty C and Cassper Nyovest on the list, who were all announced as the headliners of this year’s all-star game.

The highly anticipated game will take place at the BK Arena, following the two previous editions that were graced by Kenyan boy Band Sauti Sol and Mavin record’s star Rema.

The show is also part of Nasty C and Casper Nyovest’s joint tour dubbed ‘African Throne’ World Tour, that will kick-start in Tanzania on August 18, and close in Johannesburg on October 28.

Oda Paccy’s daughter excels in national exams

Oda Paccy is over the moon for her 12-year old daughter Yessah Linca Mbabazi, who achieved outstanding results in the national Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) for the academic year 2022-2023.

The young lady achieved a perfect score, securing an aggregate of 30 out of 30.

Oda Paccy through social media expressed how proud she is as a mother to have a smart daughter like Mbabazi.

"Continue to be intelligent and honest; we adore you, stand by you, and will always offer unwavering support. Here's to reaching even greater heights," the female rapper posted on Twitter.

Mbabazi’s father is also a celebrity in the music industry popularly known as Lick Lick, who is behind most of the hit songs that came out in late 2000s.

Av, Singah to feature on Ish Kevin’s maiden album

Renowned Rwandan rapper and lyricist Ish Kevin, last week announced the release date of his highly anticipated debut album. He also revealed the talented musicians who will be featured on the album.

"Blood, Sweat and Tears” (BST) is set to debut on September 21 across all major streaming platforms and will feature special appearances by prominent emerging musical talents from the continent, such as AV and Singah from Nigeria, among others.

Additional musicians featured are Igor Mabano, a Kina Music artiste and producer, Bobby Bangs who is considered one of the top performers of his time, Shemi, the talented artiste behind the hit song 'Peace of Mind', Young Lunya, and Pastor P.
