Peace Cup Final

July 4APR vs. Police

LEAGUE WINNERS APR Fc will be hoping to seal a seventh Peace Cup title when they face rivals Police Fc in the final of this year’s competition slated for July 4 at Stade de Kigali.

APR cruised to the final after securing a 3-2 win over SC Kiyovu in Friday’s semi final match to advance on a 6-3 on aggregates.

An own goal from Kiyovu defender Deo Othieno and double strikes from Herve Rugwiro and Jean Claude Iranzi were enough to earn victory for the military side.

The old giants scored consolation goals from Othieno and Burundian striker Laudit Mavugo.

Sam Ssimbwa’s Police also registered a 4-2 win over Sec Academy to cruise through 8-5 on aggregates.

The final will be staged on July 4 when Rwanda celebrates Liberation Day anniversary.

APR has relied on a Rwandan coach in a bid to continue building a better future for the national team. Coach Vincent Mashami will be out to silence his critics when he defeats Sam Ssimbwa of Police who has been tasked to guide the club to the title or face axe. This will be Mashami’s first double in Rwanda after guiding the club to the league title this year.
