EASTERN PROVINCE giants Sunrise football club became the first club to qualify to next year’s Turbo King Football League.

Sunrise played a one-all draw against neighbors Bugesera to qualify on a 3-1 goal aggregate yesterday in Rwamagana.

Madjaliwa Niyigena scored the vital goal for Sunrise before Shaban Bigirimana equalized.

With Sunrise already assured of a place into the finals, Bugesera needed to score another three goals to qualify but their opponents held onto their nerves to emerge victors.

The second semi final match between Isonga and Sec academy was called off and postponed to May 14.

Ferwafa communicated that the game had been called off because Isonga could not play without some of their players who had been summoned to the Junior Wasps who are facing Gabon this afternoon in the Africa Youth Championship qualifiers at Kigali Regional Stadium.

Isonga will go into the second leg of the semi final game with a 1-0 goal advantage obtained in the first leg which pitted the two sides a week ago.

The final of the second division league will be played on May 18 at Amahoro Stadium.

The finalists will replace AS Muhanga and Esperance who were relegated from the top flight league in the just concluded season.
