NYARUGENGE - Teachers in the country will be equipped with ICT and Management skills by December this year, the Secretary General in the Ministry of Education, Justin Nsengiyumva has said.

He revealed this on Wednesday while officially opening a week-long training of 45 head teachers in ICT and Management at Saint André Secondary School in Nyarugenge District.

Nsengiyumva said that the training was aimed at easing and speeding up management work that has been affecting these teachers’ performance.

"Most of them have been failing to manage their schools due to many files kept in their offices. But with access to computers, work will run smoothly,” he said.

Nsengiyumva added that with ICT access and knowledge, teachers will get Internet connection for research and compete favourably globally.

The training comes after a recent announcement by State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Theoneste Mutsindashyaka.

It is being facilitated by a British Project known as VVOBFlemish Technical Cooperation which will also be in charge until its completion.
