PMC Golf Tournament 2023 attracts over 190 players

A total of 192 golf players are taking part at the 2023 PMC Golf Tournament which is underway at Kigali Golf Club.

The competition started in July and will run through November.

Francis Njoga, the Chairman of PMC, said that participants are competing in various categories with prestigious prizes up for grabs.

The tournament has been on the rise since its inception in 2015 where it has grown from bringing together local golfers to internationals.

"It is an annual competition which begun in 2015 and it brings together Golfers throughout the country and beyond,” said Kigali Golf Club vice president Derick Rwitare.

"It it played on competitive basis and there are various categories which the Golfers vie for supremacy."

PMC Golf tournament is one of top golf competitions organised in Rwanda with Golf being one of the top emerging sports currently in Rwanda many people are embracing it.

Besides hosting the tournament, Kigali Golf Club Director Nicholas Raoul pointed out that they have a good number of kids who are already participating in the sport at the 18-hole course in Nyarutarama.

"We have kids Golf, 70 to 80 kids play the sport here. The season is starting on Wednesday, September 6 and kids from 4 years to 18 years will compete,” Raoul told Times Sport.

Raoul hailed the PMC Golf Tournament as a great event which his entity is proudly hosting throughout the course of four months of golf action.

"PMC is a beautiful event, Golf brings so many opportunities for people to play together. We will always be there for the event. We are happy all the sponsors came together," he noted.

The tournament was sponsored by different local firms including; Toyota Rwanda, as the main sponsor, BRITAM Rwanda, Gibsons and Pkf Rwanda.

Others are; Maj Consulting , Garda World, Narayan Sports, Simba Supermarkets, Van Guard Economics, and BPR Lions.
