LOS ANGELES - The already-ailing Los Angeles Lakers got more bad news on Thursday when forward Nick Young was diagnosed with a broken kneecap that will sideline him at least a fortnight.

Young was hurt in the second quarter of the Lakers’ 119-108 victory over the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Wednesday and on Thursday the Lakers reported he had a non-displaced fracture of his patella and a bone bruise in his left knee.

The seven-year pro is averaging 16.9 points per game this season, second-best among Laker players, along with 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 48 outings.

Young joins Kobe Bryant (tibial fracture), Pau Gasol (groin) and guard Xavier Henry (knee) on Los Angeles’ injured list.

The Lakers also had guard Jodie Meeks (ankle) and forward Jordan Hill (neck strain) miss Wednesday’s contest in Cleveland.
