Does it matter what you wear to church?(It’s the Lord’s house for Pete’s sake!)

Let me make something clear first; I am not saying that in order to be taken seriously in church one must dress well. But seriously, why a micro mini or pants hanging below the butt to reveal boxers or worse, a g-string in church? I’m certain the Lord already knows you have them, so please, save them for the disco.

Let me make something clear first; I am not saying that in order to be taken seriously in church one must dress well. But seriously, why a micro mini or pants hanging below the butt to reveal boxers or worse, a g-string in church? I’m certain the Lord already knows you have them, so please, save them for the disco. It is no secret that men get distracted by ‘exposed body parts’ so any ‘good Christian’ will refrain from distracting a man in church at least. Most people say they wear what they wear not for anyone but themselves. But how many women don their cleavage showing tops and micro minis and heels at home? That’s right, they put these things on to get attention and in the Lord’s house, they have no business seeking notice; God is the only one supposed to be given attention. As for the fellows, you are better off showing up in tatters than coming with sagging pants and putting everyone through the disgust of looking at your Spiderman boxers. You know how people insist on others dressing appropriately to work? Yeah well let us push this notion to church as well and cut that ‘God doesn’t care what you wear’ crap. For the ladies who for some reason just don’t feel smart if they haven’t shown some skin, you can actually show a little skin without looking trashy. A skirt slightly above the knee isn’t vulgar, but one that can barely hold your bottom in is simply disrespectful. And then the worst part is when they have to stand up and the mini wearer is busy tugging at it to come down a little. What’s that about now?We need to respect the Lord’s house. Of course no one will drag you out for dressing so provocatively but anyone who has sense knows that those little shorts chicks like to wear to the beach are not appropriate for church. Apparently some chicks don’t have a single decent item of clothing in their closet and that’s fine, we are all different. But if you have ever heard of ‘Sunday best’, then sacrifice the mini you saw in that shop at UTC and instead buy yourself one decent dress. Wear it every Sunday if you like – you’d rather be called the woman with one dress than the woman who walks around naked!Save the shorts and see-through vests for that blast at the beach where no one will bat an eyelid. You can run around and even strip down to that tiny bikini and still no one will care, because that is the place for it.
