"Choose a dress you would love to wear while enjoying a relaxed Sunday afternoon, lunching with family members or friends,” says Betty.

Whatever the dress code, it is essential to feel ‘right’ in what you wear. Think first about what the day has in store for you.

If you have to complete tasks outside the office, jeans with open-shoes and sneakers could well be the best attire for the day. But skinny-cut trousers are going to restrict movement and feel uncomfortable if you are sitting for long periods of time.

Today, the trend for men is oversized clothes. But for ladies, the trend is about looking good in tighter outfits, accompanied by jewelry.  Today, fashion experts say it’s all about the right shoes and bags.

Colours
It’s equally important to learn the meanings of colours. For instance, grey suggests you are calm, dedicated and self-possessed. Chocolate brown, black and navy suggest you are hard-working and dependable, but approachable.

Kerry who deals in interior design and colour analysis, says that colours are also vital if you are considering improving your wardrobe for success.

"The biggest challenges many people face when setting up their wardrobes is discovering their own style and colours,” says Kerry.

David Butera, owner of D&K designer’s boutique, Nyamirambo, says his favourite colour is royal blue colour, and for that reason, his wardrobe is comprised of blues.

"If there is any colour that captures my personality it is royal blue. Whenever I’m dressed in a blue shirt, I feel great, full of energy,” says Butare.
