Last week, Rwandan musician Sintex popularly known for his smash hit ‘Twifunze’ legally married his Canada-based fiance Shadia Keza while Rwandan actor Jean-Bosco Uwihoreye, popularly known as Ndimbati, was summoned by RIB on charges of neglecting parental duties.

RIB summons ‘Ndimbati’ for neglecting parental duties

The Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) last week confirmed that it summoned popular Rwandan actor Jean-Bosco Uwihoreye, popularly known as Ndimbati, on charges of neglecting parental duties.

The New Times understands that Ndimbati, who is famous for a YouTube series called Papa Sava, was summoned on August 23, after his baby mama reported that the actor was neglecting his parental responsibilities of raising their twins.

Ndimbati was acquitted by the Nyarugenge Intermediate Court in September 2022 on charges of defilement and intoxication of a minor.

Meanwhile, the actor has taken to social media to deny accusations that he doesn't take care of his twins, posting a picture of his two children having fun at the just concluded Expo 2023.

Sintex legally weds fiancé

Afro dancehall singer Arnold Kabera, commonly known as Sintex, last week revealed that he is planning for his wedding ceremony mid-next year, now that he and Shadia Keza, a Rwandan residing in Canada, are now husband and wife before the law.

The lovebirds on Thursday August 24, embraced the commitment of marriage during a civil wedding ceremony held at Kimironko Sector in Gasabo District.

The couple kept their relationship a secret, concealing it from the public eye.

Tom Close, wife launch cinema career

On August 23, renowned Rwandan musician Tom Close and his wife Ange Tricia Niyonshuti signed a contract with Zacu TV Entertainment, a film distribution company in Rwanda.

This is not the usual branding partnership or endorsement deal that Tom has been signing for the past few years, but a deal that will kick-start his movie career.

The New Times understands that Tom Close, alongside his wife's IGA Publishing signed a partnership with Zacu TV, giving him the rights to co-produce and direct his first film, which will be distributed by the renowned film distribution company.

The forthcoming film will be released next year.

Rwanda celebrates local artistes nominated in Trace Awards

Last week Rwandans and top players in the entertainment industry celebrated Rwandan artistes who were nominated for the inaugural Trace Awards coming to Kigali in October.

The music stars include Bruce Melodie, Ariel Wayz, Kenny Sol, Bwiza and Chriss Eazy.

At the event, which took place at Pili Pili bar, artistes said how they are thrilled to be recognized by a big platform like Trace.

"No words can describe how I feel to be part of this good development in our music industry. We drew inspiration from some of the people that are also nominated and it feels like we are also getting there,” Bwiza, one of the nominated artistes said at a ceremony that was held Friday, August 25.
