I used to be a really notorious member of my hostel. Just next to my room was a couple of born again people that always sang and prayed very loud on Wednesdays. This went on for a while till I got really tired and decided to attack them. This didn’t seem to help and the guys said I was possessed by the devil. It wasn’t long before I went to report them to the warden saying they were disturbing the peace. When the warden went asking around about how these guys disturb others, no one claimed to be disturbed. Guess what? The majority of the students are part of the group. The warden then asked me to keep my cool and that he wouldn’t make a decision based on one man’s opinion. The next Wednesday was just around the corner and this time they shouted even louder. It’s like they had given them permission. But that Wednesday they didn’t just pray, they also came for me. They asked me to accept Jesus Christ in my life and be born again. They asked me to at least let them pray with me. Any one in his right mind can’t refuse. So I chased them out immediately after. The next week, the same thing happened though this time they came to say hello. The next Monday wasn’t a good time for me. Results for our Continuous Assessment Tests were out. Don’t ask me what I scored but in brief, if you added my first three papers, they wouldn’t add up to 100%. When I was out on the balcony that night, I eavesdropped and these guys were talking about their marks and thanking God. They were talking 80% and one even said he was just shy of 100%. I couldn’t believe my luck and felt shy about asking them how they did it. So Tuesday morning came and let’s just say it wasn’t cute.  The lecturer even told me he had never met such a dull student in his life.  I didn’t wait for the next exam to come out; I quickly rushed to the born agains and told them I wanted to get saved. I actually like it. Now let’s see how things turn out next semester.
