The 7th edition of the annual Taekwondo National Championship, which was initially due to start today, has been moved to the weekend of January 3-6 at NPC Gymnasium, at Amahoro Stadium.

The development was confirmed to Times Sport on Tuesday by Placide Bagabo, The Rwanda Taekwondo Federation (RTF) president.

The former national team skipper explained that, “The decision to postpone the Championship was because the venue was double-booked, and will not be available.”

The four-day competition will have youth, junior and senior (in both men and women’s categories) competitions as well as a Para-taekwondo section, which is designed for fighters with physical disabilities.

Dream Fighters club from Kimironko claimed the 2017 edition’s title, followed by Gatenga-based Dream Taekwondo while Unity Taekwondo finished in third position.
